In an appearance on Fox News’ “Outnumbered” Friday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said that if Bill Clinton had been president during his wife Hillary Clinton's stint as secretary of state, he would have fired her for failing to address serious security concerns with regards to the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi.

“I think if Bill Clinton had been presidenthe would have let Hillary Clinton go for not doing her job, the same way with Les Aspin,” said Paul.

Fox News Insider explains the senator's reasoning:

“The Republican presidential candidate based that conclusion on former President Bill Clinton firing his Secretary of Defense Les Aspin in 1993 over the loss of American lives in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Aspin had refused a request to provide extra military equipment for the U.S. mission. Paul argued that in 2012, Hillary Clinton's State Department denied requests for additional security in Benghazi.

Would you agree with Sen. Paul? Do you think his argument is reasonable given the context?
