This just in: President Obama is African-American.

A cupcake shop in Oregon recently tried to give a slight homage to the president by renaming their Oreo cupcake the “Mr. President.” The owner, Anjelica Hayes, thought this was a fitting nickname, especially once she heard that Obama’s favorite cookies are Oreos.

One customer, however, took extreme offense to this.

“Very troubling,” the triggered customer wrote in a Yelp review. “When I tried to point out the racism implied, they claimed that 'our current president loves Oreos.'"

For those who don't know, "oreo" can also be used as a slang term to describe someone who is bi-racial. President Obama's father is black and his mother is white.

Haynes, who is black, denied the charges when contacted by The Oregonian, telling the outlet that she “just thought it was an honorary name," she said. "I thought I'd be honored if someone named a cupcake after me.”

Haynes also pointed out the amazing work she has done in her community, starting a project called “our ‘Piece of Cake’ movement” where she and others drive around Portland and give away cakes to the homeless.

To avoid any political blowback, Haynes opted to rename the cupcake to “The Professional,” at least until the election is over. Thankfully, she also has said that the cupcake is one of the store’s most popular items.

This isn’t the only thing that easily triggered people have complained about recently. Just last week, one liberal writer accused Hurricane Matthew of “environmental racism” due to the hurricane’s high death toll in Haiti. The accuser seems to have deleted her Twitter account since then.
