I’ve missed talking about stupid criminals. This next guy might take the cake for not only being a dumb criminal but also an overt, crazy racist.
A Greenwood, South Carolina man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison recently for trying to orchestrate a “murder for hire” scheme. Brandon Cory Lecroy, 26, attempted to hire someone from a white supremacist group to murder his neighbor while requesting that they put a “flaming cross” in the neighbor’s front yard. Lecroy also requested that they hang the neighbor from a tree.
Two things…
Lecroy only offered to pay $500 for the whole deal, which brings me to the second problem with Lecroy’s plan. He didn’t know, but the “white supremacist” group that Lecroy attempted to hire was actually the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ):
On April 9, 2018, Lecroy met with the undercover agent in Greenwood. During this meeting, Lecroy pointed out the neighbor’s residence and discussed future targets he wanted killed or maimed. Lecroy also provided the agent with a $100 cash down payment. After the exchange of funds, law enforcement officers descended on the scene and arrested Lecroy without incident.
What a moronic scumbag! Although, someone that blatantly racist is probably missing a few brain cells to begin with.
Lecroy plead guilty to the “murder for hire” charge, and the DOJ announced that the charge also came with something called “hate crime enhancement.” Lecroy will serve 10 years in federal prison, of which there’s no parole, with an additional three years of “court-ordered supervision” to follow his release from prison.
Racists of any color are stupid and deserve the exact fate that has fallen into the lap of Lecroy. That’s why Lecroy is my “dumbass criminal of the week.”
