In the latest installment of Marvel Comics’ efforts to implement socially liberal messaging while
doing away with characters who fall outside this framework, the vigilante superhero Punisher has
been literally wiped from existence.
While known for his violent, uncompromising crusade for justice after the murder of his family, the Punisher has had his origin story altered. Now reduced in the latest comic story "Punisher No More" into a bloodthirsty leader of a cult of assassins who is taken into custody by the Avengers after killing too many human traffickers and terrorists for their liking.

After each of the Avengers tried and failed to shame the Punisher for his deeds, his resurrected
wife declares that she was planning to divorce him prior to her murder and that his crusade was
completely unjustified. In response, a “completely broken” Punisher uses newfound
superpowers to spontaneously combust himself with demonic flames, removing himself from the
Marvel universe permanently.
The Punisher’s removal was allegedly motivated in part by the association of the character’s
skull logo with groups that the left frowns upon, such as police and service members (Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, whose book American Sniper was turned into a movie, often sported the logo). This caused an initial rebranding and reshaping of the character’s logo and outlook (renouncing the use of firearms). However, this appears to have expanded into a scheme to do away with the so-called “murderous, gun-wielding psychopath who takes
justice into his own hands” for all time.
Given the present efforts to tar the records of real-life American heroes and erase them from the
public eye, it is unsurprising that the left are once again, targeting fictional heroes with their woke revisionism.
