Pull the Other Leg: AOC Says Her 'World Ending in 12 Years' Statement Was 'Sarcasm'

We have found absolute proof that people on the far-left don’t know what comedy is or what a joke entails. Highly visible mouthpieces for the left, like late-night host Stephen Colbert, alleged “comedienne” Amy Schumer and serial crier Jimmy Kimmel, like to pretend to know comedy in today’s society. But what happens when no one laughs without a sign telling them to do so? It leads politicians to believe that they can pass off prior insane things that they’ve said as a “joke.”

If this is a “joke,” then comedy might truly be dead.

So Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted this out on Sunday morning:

AOCTweet1

Yeah. That’s something she either literally believes or it’s the more logical conclusion that even she thought her own SERIOUS assertion sounded stupid so she poorly attempted to cover her own behind.

Here’s the comment that Ocasio-Cortez tweeted about being a “joke.” (Note her facial expression when saying that the world’s going to end in 12 years):

No way that was a joke. Either what she said was completely serious, or Ocasio-Cortez has the greatest poker face in the world — a face that does the opposite of her alleged intent.

And “dry humor” and “sarcasm?” Really? That’s what she’s going with? I’d like to think I’m a pretty good arbiter of what sarcasm looks like. While a straight face is a tactic of those practicing sarcasm, Ocasio-Cortez said what she said in all seriousness.

Even if you gave her the benefit of the doubt, Ocasio-Cortez still didn’t mean what she said as an intentional joke. If anything, she might be able to get away with saying she said what she said in the heat of the moment. In fact, that would’ve been a much better argument on her part.

But, it’s not like Ocasio-Cortez’s appearance above was the only time she used her 12-year timeline claim:

If you say something stupid, own it. Don’t pretend like you didn’t mean what you said exactly the way you meant it.

Verdict? Not a joke. Sorry! Please try again!
