Protesters Surround Capitol to Combat GOP Healthcare Bill

Some people really love Obamacare and Planned Parenthood - or at least the people that attended a protest organized by MoveOn.org in front of the Capitol building in Washington D.C. on Wednesday feel that way.

The usual Congressional suspects joined the protesters on Capitol Hill to voice their disgust over the looming GOP Senate healthcare bill. True intellectuals such as Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) attended the event to enlighten the onlooking crowd with their nuggets of liberal wisdom.

MRCTV was on the scene where 1,000 to 2,000 people marched from one side of the Capitol building to the other where a stage had been erected in order for the luminaries to speak.

“Our caucus is united in making this fight,” Schumer told the adoring throng of people. “We stopped them yesterday, and we’ll stop them when they come back in July.”

Since a majority of the crowd were wearing pink “I Stand With Planned Parenthood” t-shirts, MRCTV attempted to get the female portion of the crowd’s take on the possible Obamacare replacement. However, the women attending the event didn’t feel like conveying their message out to the masses.

Instead, the crowd kept chanting, “What do we want?! Healthcare! When do we want it?! Now!”

One man donning a Planned Parenthood shirt told MRCTV that he loves Obamacare.

I like Obamacare, because it allowed me to stay on my parents insurance until I was 26,” the man said.

Another man, who told MRCTV that he wanted to remain anonymous, was a registered independent and worked in studying healthcare laws, said that he was attending the event in order to hear what the protesters argument was. But, he wasn’t exactly sure why they were protesting.

MRCTV also saw DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, but she ran like a scalded dog the second she realized that she might be asked some questions.

All in all, like most protests, nothing was accomplished. It turned out to be yet another day in Washington where police officers were prevented from doing actual police work, because the snowflakes don’t always get their way.
