Things in France are not getting better. The Yellow Vest (Gilet Jaunes in French) protesters of President Emmanuel Macron’s failed “progressive” policies are now seeing militarized pushback from Macron’s government.
It’s being reported that French riot police have begun to brandish “semi-automatic weapons with live ammunition against Yellow Vest protesters for the first time.”
Take a look:
In the video above, you can see Yellow Vest protesters running away from riot police, but one man wasn’t so lucky. The man, who is a firefighter in France, is said to now be in an induced coma “after being shot in the head ‘like a rabbit’ by a police officer using a controversial flash ball gun.
According to the Daily Mail:
It comes as the Yellow Vest law and order crisis enveloping Emmanuel Macron’s administration intensifies, and the president floods French streets with an increasing number of armed police.
Some are being accused of gratuitous violence, ranging from administering baton beatings, to an excessive use of chemical weapons, stun grenades and flash balls.
Is everybody paying attention now? This is what Socialism gets you! In reading the second part of the passage from the Daily Mail, the first thing the description of how French police are treating people reminded me of was the German gestapo of Adolf Hitler’s National Socialist Geman Wrokers’ Party, otherwise known as the Nazis. It's especially more comparable when you consider that French citizens are unarmed and, therefore, couldn't possibly defend themselves against militarized police with guns.
“The CRS [general reserve of the French National Police] with the guns were wearing riot control helmets and body armour – they were not a specialised firearms unit,” Yellow Vest protester Gilles Caron said. “Their job was simply to threaten us with lethal weapons in a manner which is very troubling. We deserve some explanations.”
At the trajectory this conflict is currently at, things seemingly will get worse before they get better. Macron knows his back is against the wall, so the only thing a rat knows how to do when trapped is attempt to chew their way out without regard to what they’re chewing through.
