President Trump opened the floodgates for celebrities to run for office when he was elected last November, and some very brave souls may risk their entertainment careers by running for office as Republicans.
And now, singer Joy Villa might be one of them.
The 31-year-old California-native announced on Fox News' “Fox & Friends” Wednesday that she is “launching an exploratory committee to look into a possible run in Florida.”
“We need to put new people in, we need to vote fresh blood in,” Villa said, “and we really need to make America great again with people who are going to work for the aims of the president, not lobbyists, not Washington elitists.”
President Trump tweeted at Villa in October when Villa was contemplating a possible run.
Besides her music, Villa is best known for bucking conventional wisdom and wearing a “Make America Great Again” dress at the 2017 Grammy Awards held earlier this year.
