The pro-life crowd all but universally rejoined Friday afternoon when it was announced that Judge Justice Neil Gorsuch had officially been confirmed to the ninth seat on the United States Supreme Court.

Students For Life’s Kristan Hawkins praised Gorsuch’s confirmation as a big win for the pro-life moment in a statement issued Friday.

“Judge Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation is a huge win for the Trump Administration and for the pro-life movement, who is that much closer to having a majority of Justices on the U.S. Supreme Court who interpret the Constitution as written, not as imagined by abortion activist judges. Students for Life commends President Trump for keeping his promise to appoint a judge in the mold of the late Justice Scalia, and we look forward to the day when abortion on demand, in all nine months of pregnancy is no longer the law of the land.”

The March for Life, which organizes hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers in Washington, D.C. each January, tweeted out their own statement following Gorsuch’s confirmation:

Meanwhile, abortion activists, who’ve lead numerous (and wildly ineffective) protests and social campaigns against Gorsuch on the basis that he's somehow "anti-woman," are flipping out over the Trump nominee’s victory.

Planned Parenthood once again labeled Gorsuch as “extreme” on Friday afternoon:

In another hashtag-ridden rant, pro-abortion group NARAL slammed Gorsuch and, of course, promised to “resist” -- whatever that means.

While Gorsuch hasn't yet had the opportunity to issue a definitive ruling on a case involving abortion, many pro-lifers are counting on his record of relying strictly on the U.S. Constitution -- whose 14th Amendment expressly defends the right to life -- rather than politics when it comes to interpreting law.
