Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus introduced Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Erie, Penn., on Friday in a show of unity amid rumors of troubled waters between the RNC and the Trump campaign.

“Don’t believe the garbage you read,” said Priebus. “Let me tell you something: Donald Trump, the Republican Party, all of you… We’re going to put him in the White House and save this country together.”

TIME published a story on Thursday that claims Priebus had a private phone call with Trump, expressing his concerns over recent polling and threatening to abandon the Republican presidential nominee's campaign for down-ballot races if changes were not made.

The magazine later issued a correction, admitting that “the original version of this article incorrectly characterized a telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Reince Priebus.”

"The Republican National Committee has acknowledged the possibility of redirecting its resources, but a spokesperson says Priebus did not explicitly convey that possibility to Trump in that phone conversation,” writes TIME.
