President Trump Tuesday evening dished out a classy response to the Denmark Prime Minister’s snide comments about a possible deal for the U.S. purchase the Danish territory of Greenland.

“The Prime Minister was able to save a great deal of expense and effort for both the United States and Denmark by being so direct,” said Trump in a tweet. “I thank her for that and look forward to rescheduling sometime in the future!” referring to a potential diplomatic visit to the country.

He also wrote in a preceding tweet that “Denmark is a very special country with incredible people.”

Monday night, Trump humorously tweeted out a meme showing a Trump International Hotel towering over a fishing village on the large island, saying, “I promise not to do this to Greenland!” as MRCTV reported.

The President confirmed on Sunday that he was interested in the possibility of purchasing Greenland, calling it “essentially a large real estate deal” that would benefit the U.S. strategically and adding that it would save Denmark a great deal of money.

Trump did say, however, that his administration must first “find out whether or not [Denmark has] any interest.”

Danish officials made clear that the autonomous territory was not for sale:

“Greenland is not for sale," Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told the newspaper Sermitsiag on Sunday, reported NBC News. "Greenland is not Danish. Greenland belongs to Greenland. I strongly hope that this is not meant seriously."
