President Donald Trump grabbed headlines on Sunday night when he tweeted a threat to Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.

“To Iranian President Rouhani,” he tweeted. “NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”

The harsh rhetoric comes in response to Rouhani’s threat to the U.S. earlier that Sunday.

"Do not play with the lion's tail or else you will regret it," Rouhani said during his public speech in Iran’s capital, Tehran. "Peace with Iran would be the mother of all peace and war with Iran would be the mother of all wars," he continued.

This recent conflict between the two world leaders appears to be over one of the world’s largest oil travel-ways, the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier this month, Rouhani inferred Iran would block the Strait if his country’s exports were blocked.

"Is it possible that everyone in the region sells their oil and we stand idly by and watch?” Rouhani said. “Do not forget that we have maintained the security of this waterway [Strait of Hormuz] throughout history. We have historically secured the route of oil transit. Do not forget it.”

When Trump ended in the Iran deal in May, the Iran parliament burned a U.S. flag and chanted “death to America.”

In late June, thousands of Iranians protested against Rouhani's regime, chanting, “death to the dictator.”

Meanwhile, in the U.S., some are poking fun at Trump’s all caps tweet.

There was even a Tiger Woods reference, who *almost* won the Open Championship on Sunday.

Even I had some fun when I tweeted my take on Disney's Star Wars trilogy.

Welcome to America, where we can laugh at anything... because freedom!
