After being sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump delivered an inaugural address with a strong message of unity.

He spoke of his victory in the presidential election as a message from the people:

“January 20th, 2017 will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again,” he said. “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer. Everyone’s listening to you now.”

He explained his vision for the country as “one heart, one home,” and his oath of office “an oath of allegiance to all Americans.”

Trump vowed to turn things around for the average American by implementing a number of plans and policies to put American industry and economic interests first, restore the U.S. military, secure the border, and fix U.S. infrastructure.

“From this day forward, it’s going to be only America first,” he said. “America first.”

He also promised to “reinforce all alliances and forge new ones” with the goal of eradicating the threat of radical Islamic terrorism “completely from the face of the earth.”

Trump rounded out his address by touching upon the feelings of divisiveness in America today.

"Loyalty to Our Country...Loyalty to Each Other"

He believes that, by putting American interests first and rekindling citizens’ sense of patriotism and loyalty to country, “we will rediscover our loyalty to each other."

“At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America,” said Trump, “and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other.”

“When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice,” he continued. “Whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots. We all enjoy the same glorious freedoms and we all salute the same great American flag.”

He concluded his speech by saying that “the time for empty talk is over.”

“Now arrives the hour of action,” said President Trump.

He said that “when America is united, America is totally unstoppable.”

“Together we will make America strong again. We will America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And yes, together, we will make America great again,” said Trump, as he drew his remarks to a close.
