Update: POLITICO has apparently deleted their original tweet. Because they're cowards.
Apparently devoid of any basic human decency, POLITICO just published – and subsequently tweeted – a horrifically insensitive political cartoon mocking Texans suffering in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
Here’s it is, if you can believe it:
The obvious insinuation being that Texans are such stupid, backwater hicks that they can’t even recognize government assistance when it’s literally plucking them out of a flood. Which is pretty low even for POLITICO, considering the entire country just spent the past three days watching Texans pull together like total champs following Harvey's devastation.
Needless to say, a lot of people weren’t too happy about it.
On behalf of the USCG who's husband & crews are saving lives in this storm. You don't represent us.

Wow, you’re despicable.

Houston takes in more international refugees than any city in the country. This characterization as backwards yokels is offensive.

Like most of the left-wing media, it appears POLITICO is embarassingly out-of-touch with the lives of everyday Americans. While the Arlington-based rag was busy doodling cartoons depicting Lone Star residents as slack-jawed idiots who can't tell their own heads from a hole in the ground, here's what real Texans were doing down in Houston.
