There are certainly a lot of anti-Americans living in America these days.

A South Carolina-based children’s choir was stopped by a Capitol Police officer and another Capitol staff member from singing the National Anthem in the U.S. Capitol late last month. Since then, a video of the incident has gone viral with millions of views.

The students were approved and welcomed by the office of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), as his office confirmed according to Fox News. Supposedly, Capitol Police were unaware of their permission to be at the Capitol and stepped in to stop the young children’s song.

One video shows the children joyfully singing when a Capitol Police officer spoke with what looked like a congressional staffer and another man. Moments later, the officer directed the man to approach the choir director, David Rasbach,. The man said something to Rasbach, who then cut the choir off mid-song.

They were told that "certain Capitol police said it might offend someone/cause issues."

Rasbach told the Daily Signal, “I was shocked, I was dismayed, I was stunned. I couldn’t believe that was happening, that they would stop the national anthem, of all songs."

I don’t blame Rasbach for being so flabbergasted. Given that he and his choir were in our nation’s capital city in its Capitol building, it seems that the National Anthem would be the most appropriate of songs to sing. But, God forbid something pro-America takes place anywhere close to Biden’s White House.

Capitol Police initially released a statement indicating there’d been a miscommunication and that they weren’t aware of the approval from the Speaker. But I'll bet that if the kids were singing a song about inclusion or in honor of Pride month, nobody would have given a rat's ass.

Naturally, the move sparked controversy among House Republicans, who said that they were “very disappointed” in the way the situation was handled.

“We recently learned that schoolchildren from South Carolina were interrupted while singing our National Anthem at the Capitol. These children were welcomed by the Speaker’s Office to joyfully express their love of this nation while visiting the Capitol, and we are all very disappointed to learn their celebration was cut short,” McCarthy and three other Republicans said.

On the other hand however, Capitol Police released a statement indicating that they were not, in fact, cutting the children off for biased reasons, but instead because “demonstrations and musical performances are not allowed in the U.S. Capitol.” In an email to the Daily Signal, Capitol Police said they were just trying to do their job.

Though we can’t truly know the intention of the Capitol Police officer that acted as she did, Twitter users were furious. One user wrote, “I bet if they were ANTIFA they would have let them stay and do whatever they want. Remember when BLM defaced Lincoln memorial? No one removed them. Evidently it is only Patriot people who get removed from the Capitol Building.” Another wrote, “They should have dressed in drag.”

Seriously! It's become more common to accept men in tights grinding on poles in front of kids than a children’s choir singing about their love for their country. What a wack and twisted world we live in!
