During Wednesday’s eight-hour marathon speech on the House Floor speaking on Dreamers, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed she could have “just brought the Bible here and just read the Bible.”

“If we are people of faith, in God we trust, as we contend to be. We must – we must act upon our faith, act upon our values,” Pelosi said.

It’s an interesting statement coming from a lawmaker that has defended both abortion and federal funding of Planned Parenthood.

Pelosi claims to be “a devout practicing Catholic.”  A “practicing Catholic” who once thanked God on the House floor that the nation’s largest abortion provider would continue to receive taxpayer money.

A “practicing Catholic” who admits the issue of abortion isn’t fading with Evangelicals and Catholics, and says their “anti-choice” stance is “why Donald Trump is president of the United States.”  Trump’s rise to the Oval Office isn’t something she seems to be particularly happy about.
