Over a hundred women lined up outside a tattoo shop in Washington, D.C. to get inked to benefit Planned Parenthood on International Women’s Day.

Laughing Hyena Tattoos offered special tattoo designs as part of a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood. According to their Facebook page, the tattoos cost $40, with $20 going towards the cost of supplies and $20 going to Planned Parenthood.

On the Facebook page for the event, 500 people said they were attending and another 3.3 thousand were interested in getting tattoos to support the cause.

An employee at the shop told MRCTV they had only been able to accommodate 18 people so far during the day, while there was a line of over 90 people waiting outside.

One of the women waiting on line told MRCTV she was getting her tattoo as a way to process trauma.

“I saw this event on Facebook and I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo. I tend to get tattoos to help process traumatic events and I would say that what has been going on in America right now has been a very traumatic event for me,” she said. “And I get tattoos when I get them as a symbol of transformation and processing through pain into action and also commemorating that moment.”

The shop encouraged women to share photos of their tattoos using the hashtag “#mybodymytattoo,” a play on the pro-abortion phrase, “my body, my choice.”

Laughing Hyena Tattoos posted on their Facebook page that the event raised over $800 for Planned Parenthood.
