'The Plague' Makes a Return in California

According to KCRA, a flea on a chimpmunk tested positive for the plague on Wednesday.

So far, health officials are not aware of any humans who have come into contact with infected animals, but people in the area are advised to report any sick or dead animals.

Fortunately for us, modern treatment methods would be able to cure any human that contracted the plague. So don’t worry about an outbreak of Black Death just yet.

KCRA made sure to add the symptoms in case anyone was worried about their health:

Symptoms of plague usually show up within two weeks of exposure and include fever, nausea, weakness and swollen lymph nodes.
