Pharma Exec Martin Shkreli Teases Unheard Music After Trump Win

Daniel Pickert | November 9, 2016

On Oct. 26, infamous pharmaceutical exec Martin Shkreli—collectively hated worldwide for raising the price for a medication used to treat toxoplasmosis in AIDS patients—promised the world he would release his exclusive music collection if Donald Trump were to win the presidency.

His private collection includes albums from Wu-Tang Clan, The Beatles, and Nirvana. The “pharma bro,” as he is commonly known, began delivering his promise on election night after Trump’s victory by premiering some never-before-heard Wu-Tang Clan. He exclusively bought their album, “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” for $2 million in 2015.

Shkreli was ecstatic on Twitter after learning of Trump’s success, tweeting profanities at The Huffington Post as well as Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders. He used Periscope to live stream some of Wu-Tang’s previously unheard album, but the post has since been taken down as he continuously trolls the world.

However, people made sure to rip the stream and put it on YouTube. He teases the spoken-word introduction of the album and then turns it off as the beat drops. After rambling profanities and thoughts on the election, he begins track 2 at the 5:00 mark (WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE):

Since Trump’s victory, people have tweeted at Shkreli demanding to hear the exclusive albums—to which he has replied in typical NSFW fashion, “listen stupid I need some time. i’m celebrating b******. you wait til i’m ready or i might just d*** near change my mind.”

Shkreli insists in the video above that he’s a man of his word and just needs some time to release the collection of music. If he actually delivers on his promise and releases albums from Wu-Tang Clan, The Beatles, Nirvana, The Ramones, The Smiths, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, etc., he may just go from hated to beloved. But knowing the ways of the notorious Pharma Bro, that’s a big “if.”
