House Minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi mocked Trump’s proposed border wall as a “manhood issue” Tuesday, seemingly comparing the president’s desire for stronger border security to some macho testosterone display.

“It happens to be like a manhood issue for the president, building a wall, and I’m not interested in that,” Pelosi told her audience at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics this week.

“We can’t allow him to say we’re not interested in protecting the border,” Pelosi said of Trump’s frequent attack on Democrats for their refusal to support the wall. “That isn’t the only way to protect the border. In fact, it’s probably the worst way to protect the border.”

Pelosi added there’s nothing she and her fellow House Democrats would want badly enough to negotiate with Trump on his border wall, saying the proposal is a hard "no" for lefty lawmakers. Congressional Republicans, on the other hand, have vowed to re-up discussions about a border wall (and its pretty hefty price tag) after the November midterm elections.
