Pelosi To Announce Impeachment Inquiry Into Donald Trump Tuesday, Reports Say

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday that Democrats would be launching an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump “later today.”

"We have to have the facts," Pelosi said. "That's why I've said, soon as we have the facts, we're ready. Now we have the facts. We're ready... for later today."

While Pelosi didn’t explicitly say her caucus would be launching an official impeachment inquiry, NBC News is reporting that’s exactly what she plans to say at a 5 p.m. announcement later this afternoon after she meets with fellow House Democrats.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who for months resisted efforts to launch impeach proceedings against President Donald Trump, will announce a formal inquiry on Tuesday, according to two Democratic sources close to her,” NBC reports.

Democrats' calls to impeach the president have ramped up in the past week following reports that a whistleblower within the U.S. Intelligence community has accused Trump of pressuring the Ukranian government to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son.
