Point in fact - patriotic rock band Madison Rising has just announced that its #1 best-selling rock rendition of the Star Spangled Banner has reached over 2.5 million views on YouTube, and that the band is well on its way to achieving its goal of five million views by July 4th of next year.
“Thank you to all the fans who’ve watched our video, shared it with friends and family, bought the song and t-shirt, and for all the beautiful and absolutely touching emails and calls we get every day about the Banner and all of our other music,” said Madison Rising lead singer Dave Bray, a Navy veteran. “We created Madison Rising to help restore a sense of pride back into this country, and we're thrilled that it’s having that effect.”
Madison Rising successfully completed its initial goal of 1 million views by Election Day (November 6th), seven weeks earlier than expected. As a result, the group significantly upped the ante and re-launched the campaign as the Five Million Star Spangled Banner Challenge (http://www.starspangledbannerchallenge.com).
“We hit our goal of one million views on the morning of September 14th - the exact date Francis Scott Key wrote the original version 198 years ago,” said band manager, Richard Mgrdechian. “There’s something bigger at work here, and we plan to do everything we can to take advantage of it to continue to re-energize the National Anthem and make it the #1 best selling rock song in the country. I'd love to get it played all over the country the moment the election results are finalized, but I'm not sure how to make that happen. It would be a great way to announce that politics are behind us for the time being and that America is finally back on the right track.”
