There might have been a time when “scholarship” involved the rigorous pursuit of truth, but in the world of politicized U.S. “research,” that time has long since passed.
Like an enslaved bull led by a chain attached to a ring through its nose, the power of scholarship has been caught and redirected through government payoffs and promotion, and another stark example just emerged.
Ann Dailey Moreno reports for The College Fix:
“Two scholars who question and criticize the concept of gender identity were recently kicked out of an NIH event on the topic, prompting them to ponder legal action, they told The College Fix in interviews this week.”
In other words, two people who recognize biological truth over fantasy – fantasy pushed by National Institutes of Health (NIH) political agendas, in this case – were booted from an event on the fantasy, an event that has been arranged by the NIH, the very existence of which is based on a fictional, fantastical, reimagining of the US Constitution.
Fitting.
Adds Moreno:
“Colin Wright, a well-known evolutionary biologist and Manhattan Institute fellow, and Tomás Bogardus, a philosophy professor at Pepperdine University and self described ‘traditional Catholic,’ were booted from a webinar that was part of a two-day “Exploring the many dimensions of sex and gender in the genomics era” symposium hosted by NIH in mid-July.”
Oh, but in today’s “scholarship,” exploring REAL biological sex is off limits.
Reality is too intimidating for those who want to live their lives in the realm of fantasy and play-acting…
Playing with our money.
Wright claims that his First Amendment rights were violated, which is partly right.
“’I was shocked more than anything, as my behavior was totally professional and in no way violated their Code of Conduct,’ Wright told The College Fix via email. He said while private institutions might have more leeway, NIH is public, ‘and kicking me out of the event is a violation of my Constitutional rights under the 1st Amendment.’”
Of course, within the context of any federally-funded event, exclusion of ANYONE who might want to speak would, technically, be open to a claim of censorship. It’s the way of all government systems: they take most people’s money, but cannot be open to everyone’s voice or preference. As such, numerous ideological groups focus their attention on capturing all or part of that government-run, tax-funded “space.” They fight over it, even to the point of excluding biological reality.
“Bogardus said he was also quite surprised at being booted, telling The Fix via email: ‘That’s essentially the equivalent of being forcibly ejected from a live, in-person event, and my behavior in no way would warrant that sort of treatment.’”
The problem appears to have arisen when both men engaged in the so-called “Q and A” – a time when scientists can challenge suppositions, theories, and conclusions, and when they can ask for evidence.

Sarah Bates, an NIH spokesperson, told The College Fix that Bogardus and Wright were “disruptive,” and that they – and one other participant -- broke the code of conduct for the event.
“’According to our platform records, three attendees were removed for disrupting the event by repeatedly posting questions unrelated to the session topics in the virtual Q&A forum,’ she said via email. ‘This was in violation of the event’s code of conduct.’”
Both Wright and Bogardus dispute this.
“’My goal was to attend this event and simply ask the speakers questions about the content of their talks. I remained professional throughout, and made sure all my questions were directly related to statements made by the speakers,’ Wright told The Fix.”
Of course, when the questions challenge the fantasy of “gender identity,” that’s problematic for the NIH, and Bogardus noticed precisely this problem in the tax-funded “virtual gathering.”
“’I saw no pushback from the moderator to the speakers, despite these issues being extremely controversial,’ he said. ‘So, by the time I got kicked out, I could see that this webinar was a bit absurd, and not a real academic event, where the truth of ideas could be tested by challenging questions and objections. That simply wasn’t going to happen, by design.’”
So, in a world where the politically-favored pretend that biology has no rules, those politically-favored also seem to claim that any challenge to their ideology is a “breach of the rules,” allowing another layer of absurdity to be added to their absurd denial of truth.
And it all happens while local parents worry about schools allowing males into girl’s bathrooms. It happens as the Olympics organizers allow two people with male chromosomes to box against females.
This reminds us that the NIH “virtual symposium” cited here is not an abstract exercise, not just theoretical. It is part of a real-world, in-practice destruction of scholarship and an Orwellian, political, retooling of the language that has dangerous consequences.
Those who recently saw male-chromosome-possessing boxer Imane Khelif pummeling a female boxing opponent in 2022 understand the danger… and the reality that men are stronger, faster, and more athletically gifted than women.
To deny such a reality is as absurd as denying the truth that all political systems force us to fund them, and that, as a result, all political systems assume they know better than we do how to spend our money, even to the point of expressing ideas in “virtual symposia” that run completely contrary to biological truth.
