MRCTV readers have been able to see the vast, unconstitutional spending funneled to “electric vehicle” makers, the dwindling private-market interest in EVs, the fakery behind the “climate change apocalypse” canard, and the benefits certain politicians have received through the government-money-to-corporations-and-back funding circle.

And now, in the last days of the exciting Harris campaign, we get to enjoy this: an EV school bus company that received oodles of our tax money has - shocking no one - seen one of its execs donate big money to Harris’ campaign.

Thomas Catenacci reports for The Washington Free Beacon:

“Vice President Kamala Harris's billion-dollar Clean School Bus program provided funding to Chinese EV manufacturer BYD Company's subsidiary in the United States, according to federal filings reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Months later, the subsidiary's top executive, a Chinese national, wired $50,000 in support of what is now Harris's presidential campaign.”

Catenacci and the Beacon frequently note the executive’s Chinese nationality, but the nationality of the government parasite who kicks back cash to a politician has no bearing on the foundational immorality and unconstitutionality of the pork handout or the sketchy and corrupt-looking political “donation.”

“BYD Americas was selected in late 2022 to receive $395,000 under the administration's Clean School Bus program, which was spearheaded by Harris and EPA administrator Michael Regan, EPA documents show. That funding was disbursed in May 2023, six months before Li's donations to the Biden-Harris campaign, according to the EPA.

The company applied for federal funding to supply an electric bus to Princeton Joint Unified School District located in northern California.”

Adds Catenacci:

“BYD Americas's president, Ke Li, then donated $25,000 to the Biden Victory Fund (now the Harris Victory Fund), $18,400 to the Democratic National Committee, but earmarked for the Biden Victory Fund, and a maximum individual contribution of $6,600 to the Biden campaign (now the Harris campaign), according to FEC filings reviewed by the Free Beacon. Li made each contribution on the same day: Nov. 14, 2023. President Joe Biden's $96 million campaign war chest was transferred to Harris's campaign in July after Biden withdrew from the presidential race.”

And, regardless of how one might view that “Biden Campaign to Harris Campaign” funds transfer, the Biden-Harris Administration that handed out the EV bus pork is one unit, so, right now, we’re not discussing “granular guilt” focused onto only some faceless Biden bureaucrat. The handout to BYD was policy, known and accepted by all who work for the administration.

And the sweet capper to the story? No one can tell how many of the BYD buses are in operation.

“It remains unclear whether the company is directly providing its buses to school districts that applied for program funding from the EPA. ‘We are currently not aware of other school districts that may be purchasing buses from this company under the Clean School Bus program,’ EPA spokesman Remmington Belford said in a statement to the Free Beacon.”

That might be a blessing, since electric vehicles have a deservedly bad reputation for being very dangerous if they catch fire, and for being very unreliable even when they aren’t bursting into flames.

The handout to BYD was part of Biden’s corrupt 2021 Infrastructure bill, which runs contrary to virtually every principle written into the U.S. Constitution and pushes lots of money into the “electric vehicle” sinkhole. The very idea that the government is “investing” in anything is a stunning, perennial, insult. And the arrogance and conceit of it are clear - as are politicians' shameless pay-to-play schemes, bankrolled by taxpayers and their hard-earned money.
