Americans who’ve read the U.S. Constitution might remember that there’s no provision allowing federal politicians and bureaucrats to claim there is such a thing as a “U.S. electric grid.”
Folks who have memories also might know that there is no provision in the Constitution for a “Department of Energy.”
And Americans who know the corrupt minds of politicians also know that most members of that predatory gang keep themselves busy by usurping our rights, taking our money, creating and expanding vast, slothful, wasteful, bureaucratic soviets, and they opportunistically take advantage of natural disasters and their own government failure to claim they need MORE money.
So, it might come as no surprise to discover that, even as private charities and private initiative provide more rapid and effective aid than the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) -- and as local people cite FEMA for actually getting in the way of real, private aid – the Biden Department of Energy just used Hurricanes Helene and Milton as props to announce that it will shower cash on what is spuriously and deviously called “the U.S. electric grid.”
That would be money that long ago was packed into the insultingly titled “American Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act” of 2021.
The Hill’s Zack Budryk writes about the ghoulish move:
“The Biden administration on Friday announced $2 billion in funding for projects to strengthen the resilience of the U.S. grid against extreme weather, an increasing concern following two consecutive major hurricanes in the Atlantic.
The funding, which will go to 38 projects in 42 states, will be provided through the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) program, a $10.5 billion initiative included in the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Energy Department officials told reporters on a call.”
Perhaps some observers might think that it is only natural for bureaucrats to mention recent storms and power outages as they roll out new funds for more pork projects and payoffs to state and local politicians. Emotionally, even the bureaucrats might feel a form of anti-constitutional compulsion to “get involved.”
But, as historians and scholars know (and few US politicians will acknowledge), there is nothing in the US Constitution that allows this, and in 1830 then-Congressman David Crockett (TN) explicitly acknowledged this fact in a House speech now known as “Not Yours to Give.”

As I noted three years ago for MRCTV, the 2021 “American Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act” was a 2,700-page, $1.2 TRILLION monstrosity that also included the “Affordable Connectivity Program,” an extension of the so-called “Emergency Broadband Benefit" passed by Congress in 2020 to subsidize broadband service for “low-income” households and college students getting Pell Grants (students driven out of their classrooms because of the insane, command-and-control, lockdowns imposed by the feds and state and local governments).
The 2021 “Infrastructure” bill made “an emergency measure” permanent, handing the SIX MILLION “Pell” recipients another $30 per month, per person, towards purchasing “high-speed” internet.
And now, leveraging propagandistic power from the hurricane devastation, slick Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and her hive of harriers are riding to the fake “rescue” with unconstitutional funding for “THE” electric grid – electric lines that are supposed to be handled by the states, or, more appropriately, by private parties, sans political interference and manipulation.
As Budryk notes, the unctuous Granholm offered this:
“’The devastating and deadly hurricanes, Helene and Milton, have put on stark display how extreme weather events continue to stress the nation’s aging electric systems; but across the country, the Biden-Harris administration is using every tool in the toolbox to make sure America’s power grid is hardened in the face of this challenge,’ Granholm said. ‘The administration’s Investing in America agenda has provided the largest grid investment in U.S. history helping us add more energy to the grid faster, improve reliability and resilience, and invest in innovative technologies so customers across the county can have access to more renewable energy and pay less for their electricity.’”
Surely, Ben Franklin is turning like a magneto in his grave.
And Granholm’s insufferable inability to avoid that “renewable energy” fabulism reminds us that this new “electric” opportunism comes atop the flamboyantly insulting Dem-RiNO-Biden triumvirate already promised $7.5 BILLION in that 2021 “Infrastructure” statute to create 500,000 “EV charging stations” for the command-and-control soviet cars they want forced on us.
And the feds built… Seven.
In Hawaii, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Not one is sanctioned by the U.S. Constitution, and even if the politicians were able to pass a Constitutional Amendment that did allow for such gratuitously wasteful pork spending, the Constitution actually has no “authority” over us. No set of “rules” or piece of paper that a group of other people sign, stating they have “authority” over you is valid. That’s just a claim of control, from a gang, telling you its members are your masters.
You have God-given individual rights, and it matters not how many usurpers band together to tell you they can run your life, what documents they sign claiming they have this power, or what rhetoric they use to steal more money and look heroic in storm zones.
This Granholm ploy to look like a knight in shining armor, ready to provide electric power to storm victims, is a sick, ghoulish tactic that exposes more than the moral emptiness of government. It lets us remember the constitutional rules that the politicians claim they will follow, and remember the deeper lesson that our rights are not subject to gang claims of power.
We already are blessed. Our freedom comes from God.
