O’Reilly: ‘Every Pastor, Priest, Rabbi, and Imam,’ Tell the President ‘Enough’

Monica Sanchez | February 18, 2015

Last night on “The Factor,” talk show host Bill O’Reilly issued a strong call-to-action that everyone—religious leaders, believers, secularists—demand the White House take action against ISIS.

The Islamic State carried out a series of gruesome executions this past week, beheading 21 Coptic Christians, shooting dead two Jews in Copenhagen, and burning alive 45 captive Iraqis from the Anbar Province town of al-Baghdadi.

O’Reilly discussed with guests Pastor Robert Jeffress and Fr. Gerald Murray the United States’ lacking response to the growing threat of violent Islamic extremism.

“This president is continually lecturing us that we’re not in a religious war against Islam,” Pastor Jeffress said. “And while that’s true, it’s time for the president to get off his high horse and acknowledge that radical Islam is in a religious war against us.”

“[R]adical Islam is in a religious war against us,” he said.

Jeffress continued, “These Islamists will not rest until they’ve exterminated every Jew and Christian from the face of the earth.”

O’Reilly chimed in that the President seems to be downplaying the ISIS threat.

The Dallas pastor reasoned that Obama seems to be downplaying the threat because he sees radical Islam as a minority. Jeffress warned,

“A powerful minority is more potent than a passive majority.”

O’Reilly brought up how Pope Francis, who he pointed out is “not generally a political activist,” was clearly angry about what happened to the 21 Christian killed in Libya. He suggested that the Pope take an active leadership as secular leaders are failing to do so.

“If he would say that America in the West has a moral obligation to neutralize or destroy the jihad, that would be an enormous story,” O’Reilly said, “but I don’t see him doing that.”

Fr. Murray replied, “He did say back in the summer that we have to stop ISIS in reference to what was happening in Iraq and Syria. But let’s face it, we don’t have to wait for the pope to tell us what to do, and the United States of America is the moral leader in the world.

“Where’s the moral leadership here?” he asked.

“There isn’t any,” O’Reilly replied.

He later called for all religious leaders in the U.S. to address this threat with their congregations, and for “all Christians, Jews and secularists who love their country” to contact the White House and say “enough.”

“I want every pastor, every priest, every rabbi, and every imam to email me personally and tell me you’re gonna do that,” O’Reilly said.
