Oklahoma - OK With Open Carry

1.1k views

Starting Nov. 1, 2019 Oklahomans 21 or older can carry a firearm without a license.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt signed a bill on Wednesday allowing the state to join more than a dozen others that allow eligible adults to carry firearms without taking a safety course or paying licensing fees.

The new “constitutional carry” law also allows active military, veterans, and reserve military who are 18 or over to carry without a permit.

Felons, those with domestic violence convictions and some dealing with mental illness are prohibited from carrying a firearm.

The signing of the law in Oklahoma was a stark contrast to the restrictive measures on guns House lawmakers passed on the same day in Washington.
