Obama: Huffington Post is a Bad Source for News (Even Though I Blog for Them)

“Get informed – not by reading the Huffington Post,” President Obama told Democrats at a Philadelphia retreat yesterday.

His remarks seem strange, since the Huffington Post carried Barack Obama’s op-ed the same day he was sniping at the media outlet’s inability to keep the public informed!

Is Obama admitting that reading his own article is not a good way to stay informed?

This isn’t the first time that Obama has publicly lambasted Huffington Post, either. In 2011, he complained to a small group of students that, “ If you read the Huffington Post, you'd think that I was some right-wing tool of Wall Street.”

New York Magazine spotted the Presidential gratitude and snarked: “This raises not only the question of why Obama does not want Congress to read his own work, but why the Huffington Post continues to employ him at all.”

From New York Magazine:

“A few years ago, maybe the Huffington Post needed this kind of crap writing to fill out its homepage. Nowadays they can do much better — it has an increasing amount of high-quality excellent reporting of its own. They don’t need a third-rate blogger like Barack Obama, clinging to the dying stages of a once-promising literary career. And they certainly don’t need him if he’s going to return their generosity by badmouthing them in public. Fire this hack.”

Things are truly awry when Huffington Post isn’t liberal or fawning enough for the liberal leader of the free world.
