The unpopular “Let’s Move” program is upping its marketing ante with a slick new video for the program’s fifth year anniversary – but unfortunately the Obamas are featured pretending to act like an ordinary couple.

It starts with Barack Obama, the leader of the free world (taking some time off from golfing) as he walks into a room and accidentally interrupts his wife, Michelle, who is filming her promotion. Ostensibly he does this because he is looking for a misplaced necktie.

“What’s going on here?” says the President.

“We are celebrating a big anniversary,” says Michelle, at which point we are supposed to suspend disbelief and pretend that Barack might have forgotten their wedding anniversary … until she soothes him by reassuring him that it's not their anniversary, it's “Let’s Move’s” anniversary!

Ooof.

It just gets worse.

Michelle explains that she wants people to “Gimme Five:” “I want kids, parents, maybe even a few celebrities to give me five ways to be healthy. For example, they can eat five new veggies, or do five jumping jacks, or push ups, or find a way to work five new healthy habits into their daily routine.”

Watch the clip to see more of their stiff acting.

(Are these two a couple in real life? Why is their playful banter so stilted?)
