NYT Reporter: I Know People ‘Still in Therapy’ Since Clinton Lost

A New York Times reporter says that she knows people who are “still in therapy” ever since Hillary Clinton lost to President Trump in November.

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday, Yamiche Alcindor said that Clinton’s new book “What Happened” was a way for Clinton and her supporters to “vent” and cope with the election results.

“I think the intention of the book was two things,” she said. “One it was to really, I think just vent and get it out there. Because there are so many people like Hillary Clinton who are still writing about this, who are still thinking about this, who are still in therapy, frankly. Sources that I know who are still really upset about the election.”

“And I think the other thing was to really lay out the way forward,” she added.

Alcindor went on to say that Clinton is “the embodiment of all that’s still going wrong with the Democratic Party,” as her book shows that she is unsure about “how to go forward.”

“Hillary Clinton is the embodiment of all that’s still going wrong with the Democratic Party, and what they need to get through,” she said. “So I think Hillary Clinton, I don’t think is opening any new wounds here.

“Anyone who interviews Democrats, anyone who’s talking to activists on the ground, progressives and elected officials understand that people are still in some ways really reeling from the 2016 election. And really do not know how to go forward.”

Among the many excuses listed in her book, Clinton blames The New York Times in particular for playing an "outsize role" in covering her email scandal during her campaign, going so far as to call its approach "schizophrenic."

The Times has yet to respond to Clinton's criticism, but has called the book "worth reading."
