Crown Publishing Says They Won't Keep Printing or Promoting Cuomo's Pandemic Memoir

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had the breathtaking audacity to write a book on how to properly handle a pandemic, even though his order for care facilities to accept sick patients resulted in thousands of COVID-19 deaths. Now that his astounding hypocrisy has been revealed, his publishers are taking action.

According to The Wrap, Crown Publishing, a subsidiary of Penguin Random House, has ceased reprinting and promoting operations for Cuomo’s book, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic.” The company told the New York Times that their decision was based on “the ongoing investigation into N.Y.S. reporting of COVID-related fatalities in nursing homes.”

The publishing company, which had reportedly secured a book deal from Cuomo for at least seven figures before it had even been written, further stated that there would be no paperback copies released of “American Crisis.”

Cuomo’s book was printed by Crown Publishing last summer, which led to its author suffering rebukes for having it released in the middle of the pandemic.

In addition to the book deal and nursing home investigation woes, Cuomo has also been accused of sexual misconduct by several female staffers, with one alleged victim claiming, “Governor Andrew Cuomo has created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected.” The governor has since apologized for his inappropriate workplace behavior, which he claims was done in jest.
