New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said in a phone interview with CNN on Thursday that all passengers trapped in the crashed train at the Hoboken station have been rescued by first responders and transported to two local hospitals.

“All of the folks who were trapped in the train have been removed,” said Christie. “They’ve been taken to two local hospitals.”

He said that the train crash is being investigated by several local and federal agencies, including the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

When asked whether there is any evidence indicating that the train crash was anything other than an accident, Christie replied, "Nothing at this point."

"But again, remember, we are at the very early stages of this," he said. "Don't jump to conclusions. Let the facts lead you to conclusions."
