Nikki Haley Launches Petition Calling on Congress to Investigate 'China's Communist Government'

In the not-too-distant-future, the communist government of China is going to need to answer some questions and actually be truthful about it. It appears as though a growing number of people agree with that sentiment.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Nikki Haley's non-profit advocacy group, Stand For America, has called on people to sign a petition that the organization recently released that would ask Congress to investigate "China's communist government" and their role in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The petition is called "Stop Communist China."

"China’s Communist government needs to be held accountable for their role in lying about the Coronavirus pandemic, and the U.S. Congress needs to respond – now," Haley said in a quote on the petition website. "Join us in our fight to stop China from gaining influence in America and around the world."

The following is a list of things from the petition under the heading, "WHAT WE'RE FIGHTING FOR":

Investigate the Communist Chinese government’s role in covering up the initial COVID-19 outbreak.

End China's stranglehold on critically-important supplies. Bring manufacturing of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals back to America.

Make China pay the UN and other international organizations’ like the second largest economy in the world should -- no more being treated like a poor "developing country."

Support Taiwan. Push back against Communist China’s bullying and allow Taiwan to join the World Health Organization (WHO).

Require American colleges and universities to disclose all Chinese Communist government funding of professors and researchers.

The petition, as of this writing, 31,710 signatures out of a goal of 100,000.

As for a couple of the petition's points on what they're "fighting for," the WHO received a large amount of criticism for a few weeks ago after video of an interview between a Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) reporter and WHO senior adviser to the director general Bruce Aylward came to light showing Aylward dodging the reporter's questions about Taiwan as if they didn't exist outside of China.

Here's that video:

Second, the last point could be in reference to Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University Dr. Charles Lieber working for the Chinese government, by way of the Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), while also being part of China's Thousand Talents Plan. The plan is "designed to attract, recruit, and cultivate high-level scientific talent in furtherance of China’s scientific development, economic prosperity and national security," according to a January U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) news release

China's communist government certainly has some questions to answer. It'll be interesting to see if enough people agree in order to send the petition to Congress.
