A video making the rounds on social media appears to show residents in Worcester, Massachusetts surrounding and assaulting ICE agents while they were in the process of detaining a mother just a day after arresting the alleged father of the same family.

According to Boston.com:

Worcester police said officers responded to the neighborhood around 11:13 a.m. for reports of around 25 people surrounding a federal agent, while another person called to report that ICE agents were refusing to show a warrant to the crowd.[…]

In chaotic videos of the incident online, an individual who appears to be the teen girl is screaming as up to five officers detain her. Another individual pushes police officers, who then push her into a front yard before arresting her.

Ashley Spring, 38, was also arrested after she allegedly threw an unknown liquid substance on and pushed multiple officers who were attempting to arrest the 16-year-old. Spring is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (unknown liquid), disorderly conduct, and interfering with a police officer.

As for some of the video circulating online, it shows the residents being extremely confrontational with ICE agents and local police:

I understand that these are delicate situations in terms of the human aspect of the story. But if you are in the country illegally or are just a straight-up criminal, don’t be surprised when you receive the possibility of accountability.

I don’t know if people are just stupid, or if they simply don’t care about the law, but what do you think is going to happen to you when you assault a police officer or federal agent? And, if you’re already flagged for being in the country illegally or you’re a criminal, are you expecting every city’s police to be like Portland, Oregon where they tolerate crime?

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I wish I could say I feel bad, but…
