When you really break it down, what is cancel culture? Who are the arbiters of what is acceptable and what isn’t? Does the outrage mob have any actual power if you don’t allow them to either get to you or force into some false sense of guilt? Is cancel culture actually a real thing if you don’t give it the power it so craves?

One person who understands the false weight that cancel culture carries is UFC President Dana White. Talk about someone who gives not one damn about gang that runs the panel for the ‘Oppression Olympics.’

White sat down recently with Shannon Sharpe on his “Club Shay Shay” podcast to talk about a multitude of topics, including cancel culture.

“Do you ever worry about getting cancelled, Dana?” Sharpe asked White.

“What does that mean, actually?” White rhetorically asked, beginning his response. “Cancelled. Cancelled by who? You know what I mean? Cancelled by who?”

White went on to explain the only people whose opinion he gives oxygen to.

“I obviously have, in the UFC and life, you have a fanbase. People that are in with you,” continued White. “Outside of those people, and my circle that I give s**t about, I could care less.”

After that, White made a very specific analogy when it comes to cancel culture — being a part of the gay community in the 1980s.

“I equate it to being gay,” White added. “Think about this. In life, back in the 80s, if you came out and said you were gay, it could destroy your career, it could destroy — imagine living a life where you can’t be who you really are. F**k that. I am who I am. If you like it or you don’t like it, I don’t give a f**k. That’s your problem, not mine.”
