Look, full disclosure, I won’t be seeing Disney’s live-action remake of “Snow White,” not because of its star Rachel Zegler and her “activism,” but because Disney ruins everything it touches in, at least, the last 10 years. I refuse to give them my money when they consistently insult the audience and their intelligence.

With that out of the way, the son of “Snow White” producer Marc Platt responded to an Instagram comment bashing him for his father’s action of reportedly visiting Zegler to “reprimand” her for the multiple woke things she’s said in promoting the movie in the years leading up to its release.

“Your dad flew to NYC to reprimand a young actress?” the user wrote. “Any words to this? Cuz that’s creepy as hell and uncalled for. People have the right to free speech, no? Shame on your father.”

Jonah Platt, the producer’s son, responded by asking the question, “You really want to do this?” This type of response is typically followed by information that’s normally classified as “airing dirty laundry.”

Platt spoke about Zegler “dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for.”

He was referencing Zegler’s multiple interviews, occasionally alongside co-star Gal Gadot, in which she pushed her “girl power” agenda and how the actual story of “Snow White” millions beloved that was “out of date.”

“And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office,” Platt wrote. “Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions.”

While I am a free speech absolutist, I am under no delusion that means you can say whatever you want while you’re working. You can’t say absolutely anything while working a job someone is paying you to do. You might generally work in a place where you can say most things, but very few bosses, if any, would want you to say something that could damage the business you’re contracted to do.

Even if you didn’t get fired for saying something hurtful to the business and/or employer you work for, the actual fallout from what you say could damage the business to the point that your employer might have to cut jobs or close up shop altogether. So, you’d be out of a job anyway.

“Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged,” Platt wrote, concluding his response.

You might not like it, but sometimes you might need to be reined in at your place of employment to protect not only yourself from being out of a job, but the business from being harmed.

It’s an unfortunate part of life, but no one asked Zegler to essentially crap all over the intellectual property (IP), or title recognition, that would’ve persuaded most people to see the film. But, when you vomit your woke nonsense well ahead of the project you’re getting paid millions of dollars to work on, you might need to look in the “mirror, mirror on the wall” to find fault in why said project failed.
