Let’s just say it out loud, folks. All these politicians who used to love to tell anyone who would listen about how tolerant both they and their cities are through the implementation of declaring their towns sanctuary cities seem to be liars.

In the latest highly hypocritical move by a big city lefty, New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ office filed a lawsuit of Thursday against 17 bus companies to the tune of $700 million for transporting “more than 33,000 migrants from Texas to the Big Apple,” according to the New York Post.

“These companies have violated state law by not paying the cost of caring for these migrants,” Adams reportedly said in a statement, “and that’s why we are suing to recoup approximately $700 million already spent to care for migrants sent here in the last two years by Texas.”

Apparently, Adams doesn’t have the stones to sue the state of Texas and Gov. Greg Abbott (R), so he’s doing what New York typically does in crisis situations — take it out on businesses.

The Post also reported:

The coach companies were paid roughly $1,650 per person they transported — a bloated price tag that’s more than five times the average rate for one-way tickets from Texas to NYC, the suit claims.

The city put the cost of care at $708 million, though the suit does not say how that figure was calculated.

The unique lawsuit comes on the heels of Adams cracking down on the companies by ordering them to give the city notice of their arrival and limiting when and where they can drop migrants off.

But, but…what happened to New York City being a sanctuary? At least they’ve lasted longer than the elitist snobhole, Martha’s Vineyard, who took less than 48 hours to kick out the illegal immigrants sent to their neck of the woods.

I don’t want to hear anymore about how places like New York, Chicago and the like are compassionate areas for people to make better lives for themselves, when all they seem to do is complain when their virtue signaling becomes reality and drops on their doorsteps.
