Report: Obama Admin., Intel. Agencies Spied on Trump & Associates Prior to 2016 Election

Objectively, there are plenty of things we can criticize former President Barack Obama and his administration for. From beginning the slippery slope of perversion to where we are now with people making excuses for “minor attracted persons” to his killing of American citizens through drone strikes, the faults of the Obama administration are apparent and glaring.

But, and it wouldn’t be the first time someone floated the idea, can we accuse his presidency and the people within it of treason? Sedition, perhaps? What happens when the things they do may not be exactly illegal, because — as lawyers — they know how to get around and bend the law to their whims, but are still detrimental to the United States of America and the rights of its people, no matter the target?

In a report published on Monday by independent journalist Michael Shellenberger’s Public Substack, in coordination with fellow journalists Matt Taibbi and Alex Gutenlag, the federal intelligence community under Obama — including former CIA Director and combatant of former President Donald Trump, John Brennan — organized an intelligence gathering operation in which 26 Trump associates were spied on prior to the 2016 presidential election.

According to the New York Post:

Former CIA Director John Brennan identified and presented the targets to the US’s intelligence-sharing partners in the so-called “Five Eyes” agencies – the intelligence-gathering organizations in the US, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand – according to a report published Monday on Michael Shellenberger’s Public Substack.[...]

The US intelligence community had “identified” the 26 Trump associates “as people to ‘bump,’ or make contact with or manipulate,” one source told the outlet.

In spy-speak, “bumping” is when a reason is manufactured to meet with a target of interest in order to develop a relationship that could lead to intelligence.

Independent journalist and podcaster Tim Pool spoke about the foreign interference, possibly at the behest of the Obama administration.

“The Obama administration, it would seem, their intelligence agencies, knew that they could not directly engage in these actions, so they asked foreign countries to do it instead,” Pool said, “which generated the reason for the Russia collusion narrative. In other words, the U.S. and its allies engaged in a criminal, seditious conspiracy against the upcoming president.”

The report also noted a “10-inch binder” that held “intelligence related to the surveillance effort” that Trump ordered to be “declassified” prior to his ousting from the Oval Office, all of which “could contain evidence that ‘multiple US intelligence officials broke laws against spying and election interference”, according to The Post.

Pool intimated that this could’ve been the very reason why the FBI raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in 2022 — they wanted to find this binder.

“The hypothesis is that the reason Donald Trump’s home was raided is that they are panicked and desperately trying to find these documents, which prove the Obama administration, the CIA or elements of the previous administration were engaged in seditious actions, and perhaps even treasonous actions, “Pool said.

These are very serious allegations levied against the Obama administration. But, if the report is accurate — and there’s no reason to believe they’re not — then those same serious allegations should result in serious consequences.
