Praise the Lord! U.S. Marshals Find 200 Missing Children in Nationwide Operation

Nick Kangadis | July 3, 2024

You know, it’s funny (in a life kind of way, not literally). But, since the talk surrounding the movie “Sound of Freedom” died down, many have forgotten about the actual purpose of the film — to raise awareness and make people at least attempt to do something about the evil practice of child trafficking. I’m guilty of it, too. I don’t report on it as much as I told myself I would.

In that vein, listen to this.

According to the Justice Department (DOJ), U.S. Marshals found 200 missing children during an operation that took from over a month.

Before I go into detail, you might be asking yourself as I did, ‘Why didn’t the news report on this at all?’ After all, this was reported two days ago. It’s because finding missing children isn’t as “sexy” to the establishment media as dead children resulting from a mass shooting that happens every now and then. THAT’S THE TRUTH WHETHER ANYONE LIKES IT OR NOT.

There might be articles here and there from different outlets, but it’s not going to lead your nightly news, and it should.

Anyway, per the DOJ report:

Operation We Will Find You 2 (OWWFY2), the second-of-its-kind nationwide missing child operation, was conducted from May 20 to June 24 and focused on geographical areas with high clusters of critically missing children. Children who go missing may be in serious danger and can be vulnerable to child sex trafficking, abuse, exploitation, and other crimes against children.

With technical assistance from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), OWWFY2 resulted in the recovery and removal of 123 children from dangerous situations. An additional 77 missing children were located and found to be in safe locations, according to law enforcement or child welfare agencies. Of the 200 children found, 173 were endangered runaways, 25 were considered otherwise missing, one was a family abduction, and one was a non-family abduction. The youngest child recovered was five months old. 14 of the children were found outside the city where they went missing. Additionally, of the missing children recovered, 57% were recovered within seven days of the USMS assisting with the case.

The point here is, whether a portion of these children were being trafficked or not, a missing child is no laughing matter. This is one instance in which I will praise our government for doing something right for a change.

I’m not even the biggest fan of kids myself, full disclosure, but I am fiercely protective of those who are vulnerable. I hate bullies, and I hate criminals who take advantage of people for whatever personal gain they receive from it.

Innocent children are a part of that group I just mentioned. There needs to be more voices for the defenseless. I just hope good news like this continues, and more people shed light on helping the vulnerable, like the aforementioned innocent children.

And when it comes to trafficking, especially of children, to take a line from “Sound of Freedom,” “God’s children are no longer for sale.”
