THIS is why no one trusts the establishment propaganda media anymore. THIS is why that same media has lost all credibility with the vast majority of rational-thinking Americans. And, THIS is why the legacy media is on life support and new media (podcasts, independent journalists) are taking over as people’s preferred method of taking in information and news.
On Monday, the New York Times (NYT) reported with certainty — at least according to their headline — that President-elect Donald Trump is “Expected to Name Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.”
Now, in all fairness, Trump may very well do just that, but you don’t have to go further than the first paragraph of the NYT article to see why that headline is essentially fake news.
“President-elect Donald J. Trump is expected to name Senator Marco Rubio of Florida as his secretary of state, three people familiar with his thinking said on Monday, as Mr. Trump moves rapidly to fill out his foreign policy and national security team.”
“…three people familiar with his thinking.”
What in the blue hell does that even mean? That could be anybody. Heck, those “three people” might not even exist, but are included as a way to present some kind of “source” for the story to the public.

“…three people familiar with his thinking.”
How do we know that? Are these people in Trump’s circle? Probably not. Because if these “three people” were actually close with Trump and heard Trump say this about Rubio, you wouldn’t describe those people as “familiar with his thinking.”
So basically, this story is nothing but conjecture. This is what “three people familiar with his thinking” think he will do. I think certain people will do a lot of things, but I don’t go around telling others that the person is going to do said thing just because I think it.
Again, Trump could absolutely appoint Rubio to the position. But, until we hear it from Trump or someone in his employ, or even someone speaking on his behalf, then it’s not accurate reporting.
Then again, we have been conditioned to expect nothing less from the New York Times.
