Eventually, even if you’re the most liberal of parents in the Loudoun County Public School (LCPS) system, you have to question why the board and Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence have hid different situations from you and other parents. From fentanyl overdoses to sexual assaults, the LCPS board seems to cover for crimes affecting the students and parents that provide the tax dollars for the board to exist in the first place.

On Wednesday, Loudoun County students staged a walkout protest to “ask the school board to restore boys only and girls only locker rooms, showers and bathrooms,” according to WJLA-TV’s Nick Minock.

“Some female students told me girls have stopped using the bathrooms at school because biological males use their restrooms, due to this policy,” Minock said on X/Twitter. “Fairfax County and Prince William County public schools have the same policy.”

“I would like to be able when I get off football practice and go put my pads away and change not feel uncomfortable with other genders in there watching me,” a male student old WJLA-TV. “I feel that girls feel the same way about the situation. How would you feel if you were a female changing with a male?”

In light of this, the question now becomes, between the LCPS board and the students protesting, who are the adults and who are the kids? Also, why is the board accepting of and promoting such an invasion of students’ privacy?

It’s not just the board that desires the promotion of students’ invasion of privacy. Minock reported that some students who wanted to join the protest were discouraged from doing so by their teachers. So then, another question we need to ask is why are those teachers so keen on having their male and female students being able to use the same bathrooms and locker rooms?

It makes the teachers look like perverts.

Reportedly, there was a “smaller group of counter-protesters” waving pride flags. Taking that into account, what does pride have to do with invading people’s privacy, and why does pride condone such a practice?

It makes the “pride people” look like perverts.

All of this controversy is compounded by Minock’s assertion that LCPS covered up multiple student "fentanyl overdoses for weeks."

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) issued an executive order, which went into effect on Wednesday, to “improve transparency to families” concerning student drug overdoses.
