President Donald Trump’s administration has been hoping that illegal immigrants, to a degree, would self-deport, and that has been happening, just maybe not at the rate one might’ve hoped it would. One group of people that apparently are self-deporting are actual Americans who fear that Trump is some authoritarian “fascist.”

These tongue chewers are leaving the country, and I’m sitting here asking, ‘Where’s the problem?’ Bye.

Some dude who’s supposedly an “expert” on fascism says he’s leaving the U.S. for Canada because he feels Trump is bringing fascism to the U.S.

MSNBC contributor and Yale professor Jason Stanley told the outlet on Monday that he would be leaving the U.S., but doesn’t see it as an act of cowardice.

“I don’t see it as fleeing at all,” Stanley said. “I see it as joining Canada, which is a target of Trump, just like Yale is a target of Trump.”

Well, maybe a good number of people see the Ivy League and its schools as anti-American indoctrination centers.

Stanley feels as if the Trump administration is going after students in the U.S. on Visas who advocate for foreign enemies of the U.S. or terrorist organizations is tantamount to fascism. He believes that eventually U.S. citizens will be targeted.

“Right now they’re targeting non-citizens for, you know, writing in student newspapers,” Stanley said, according to the Daily Mail. “I’m sure, or I suspect, they’ll start pulling people’s passports, targeting U.S. citizens for various reasons and exploiting Americans’ ignorance.”

One, you’re either “sure” or you “suspect.” You can’t do both. If you “suspect” that doesn’t equate to being “sure” about anything.

Two, Stanley genuinely thinks — at least from his own words — that the American people are ignorant.

And third, just because it’s happened in the past in foreign countries, and because you want it to happen just so you can say you were right at elitist cocktail parties, doesn’t mean it’s going to occur.

Stanley’s allegedly leaving on his own, so again, where’s the problem? It wasn’t Trump that made him leave.
