Facing the 'Whirlwind': Chuck Schumer to be Investigated for Incitive Rhetoric

Some people will say that because President Donald Trump won the 2024 election he should just let old beefs go. But, that just wouldn’t vibe with, what I’m calling, the ‘Accountability Administration.’ (Don’t worry. Someone will probably steal it and say they came up with it within the week. Nothing new.)

The question then becomes, ‘Would the left ever give you the same grace the right typically does when they get upset, but turn the other cheek?’ The correct answer is no.

So, it’s refreshing to report that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) will be part of an investigation into threats being given to political opposition, including against those within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

As for Schumer’s part in the pending investigation, aptly titled “Operation Whirlwind,” Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin penned a letter with details and posted to leftist Twitter, aka BlueSky.

“Late last night I took a call from a senior DOGE staffer. We spoke about some pressing tech issues and then he told about threats against DOGE government workers. It is despicable that these men and women are being threatened.[…]

We are the DC US Attorney’s office; we are the guardians of federal workers. You and I must do whatever possible to assure government work is safe for all involved. We must protect our cops, our prosecutors, our DOGE workers, the President, and all other government employees from threats against our nation.

One of the most abhorrent examples was when Senator Charles Schumer led a rally to attack US Supreme Court justices. Schumer said, reading from notes in his hand: “I want to tell Gorsuch. I want to tell you Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Schumer made those statements at an abortion rights rally in 2020.

According to Reuters, a “spokesperson for Schumer” responded to the letter by reiterating that Schumer regretted having “used the words I used yesterday,” while never actually apologizing.

Despite his protestations that he wasn’t trying to incite any violence towards Supreme Court justices, there was an attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s life by some nutjob who traveled to the area for the explicit reason of taking the judge out.

Only time will tell if Schumer, or anyone else making these alleged threats, will face any repercussions for doing what they always accuse their opposition of doing.
