A lot of people and companies have moved from California to Texas in the last few years, and there’s one thing that original Texans always say — ‘Don’t California my Texas.’ Well, you can add another company, and at least the CEO and his family, to the list.
Chevron Chairman and CEO Mie Wirth joined CNBC’s Jim Kramer on Friday and confirmed that Chevron is in the process of moving its headquarters from California to Texas.
Now, this isn’t new news that Wirth broke about the move. But, Wirth publicly confirmed it to Kramer.
“I am in the process of personally moving to Texas and the company is moving our headquarters there as well after 145 years in California,” Wirth said. “Not an easy decision to make, but the right one for our company.”

One hundred forty-five years. I spelled it out like that because moving to another place after that long is a legacy-breaking move — in this case not for Chevron, but for California.
California was known for having one the largest economies in the world…by itself. But with the corporate and private exodus of countless businesses and people, California might soon be known as a failed state. Sad.
