During Tuesday evening's CBS News Vice Presidential debate between Republican nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Democratic nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), CBS News decided to act on a debate rule warning that they would cut a participant's microphone at their discretion.

Following a back and forth on immigration, specifically referencing the Haitian migrant issue in Springfield, Ohio, Vance decided to chime in even though the moderators attempted to move on.

"Margaret [Brennan], the rules were that you guys weren't going to fact-check, and since you're fact-checking me, I think it's important to say what's actually going on."

That's when Vance began describing the CBP One App, which allows potential asylum seekers to do those from anywhere around the world and have the process expedited, as Vance said, "at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand." As Vance attempted to continue his explanation of the process, either CBS News or the moderators muted Vance's microphone.

Vance attempted to continue to speak off-mic, but the moderators moved on. They claimed that both mics were cut, but only Vance could be heard trying to speak without one.

Stay tuned to MRCTV for more coverage of the debate.
