The Department of Justice (DOJ) has heightened their efforts and extended their reach in filing charges against anyone remotely connected to the events in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021.
The latest to feel the long arm of the law is The Blaze journalist and contributor Steve Baker, whose attorney notified him that he’s going to be charged by the DOJ “for my journalistic efforts on #Jan6.” Baker noted in a post to X that he doesn’t yet know the extent of the charges, but is supposed to turn himself in to authorities on December 19.
🚨BREAKING🚨 My attorney has just been notified by @FBI that I am going to be charged by @TheJusticeDept for my journalistic efforts on #Jan6. I have to self-surrender on Tuesday. Charges are yet unknown. Stay tuned for more information to follow this afternoon.

Baker was also interviewed by The Blaze’s Sara Gonzalez on Thursday and noted that he believes President Joe Biden’s DOJ wants him “off of this case.” Before the January 6 tapes were made public recently, Baker was one of a handful of journalists allowed to review footage others were not privy to.

“They are not charging the mainstream media journalists that also followed the story,” Baker told Gonzalez. “I’m ready for the fight.”
While he’s subject to upcoming charges and investigation, Baker said he won’t stop his investigation into what happened on January 6.
