Just because New York politicians — and a fair amount of their voters — don’t care about the safety of people in the city doesn’t mean there isn’t anyone that cares to help others in times of need.
Following the “alleged” murder of New York Police Department officer Jonathan Diller at the hands of a career criminal with 21 prior arrests, Barstool Sports decided to raise money for Diller’s family. People were more than generous and donated a reported $750,000.
Barstool and founder Dave Portnoy pledged to match any and all donations to the family, brining the total raised to $1.5 million.
“Thanks to everybody who donated,” Portnoy wrote in a post on his X account. “We raised 750k. With the matching of the funds that brings the total to 1.5 million that will go directly to the family.”

Now, money can’t bring Officer Diller back for his family, but it does ease some of the hardships they may face in the near future.
Good on Barstool and Portnoy for giving a damn, while others are partying with Lizzo — we’re looking at you President Joe Biden and former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
