It’s clear that a growing portion of Americans don’t have much faith in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as the majority of the intelligence agencies. But, there are still good people that work in these alphabet agencies, and our lack of faith doesn’t mean we should discount every piece of information they come out with.
According to Forbes:
While messaging Android to Android or iPhone to iPhone is secure, messaging from one to the other is not.
Now even the FBI and CISA, the US cyber defense agency, are warning Americans to use responsibly encrypted messaging and phone calls where they can. The backdrop is the Chinese hacking of US networks that is reportedly “ongoing and likely larger in scale than previously understood.” Fully encrypted comms is the best defense against this compromise, and Americans are being urged to use that wherever possible.
Apparently, the group behind a lot of these cyberattacks is called Salt Typhoon, who reportedly has an association with China’s Ministry of Public Security.
There’s those words again — “Public Security.”
Remember what the late, great stand-up comedian George Carlin said once upon a time. Granted, he was talking about airport security, but his words were a general condemnation of Big Daddy government as a whole.
“As far as I'm concerned, all of this airport security, all the searches, the screenings, the cameras, the questions, it's just one more way of reducing your liberty, and reminding you that they can f**k with you anytime they want... as long as you put up with it... as long as you put up with it; which means of course anytime they want, cause that's what Americans do now, they're always willing to trade away a little of their freedom in exchange for the feeling, the illusion of security.”
Making that trade little by little over the years has gotten us into the predicament we now find ourselves in, searching for change in the face of such tyranny.

Because the Chinese are so good at cyber-espionage, if you work a government job — or you’re someone whose job grants you some level of importance — you’re more prone to having your data stolen by the ChiComs.
“…’the actors compromised private communications of a limited number of individuals who are primarily involved in the government or political activities. This would have contained call and text contents.’”
Of course, this doesn’t mean that everyday Americans are completely safe. The alphabet agencies are still suggesting that everyone, no matter their background, use encrypted messaging and phone call communications systems.
The Chinese government and their practices, and I don’t really care how much of their products influence our economy, are a blight on the U.S. and should possibly be excised from our culture.
