The media went crazy over the anniversary of the Jan. 6 riot this week. After talking to a far-left voter who thought that Bernie Sanders had his 2016 nomination stolen from him, as well as a Trump voter who thought that 2020 was stolen, CBS’ Tony Dokoupil made it clear where he stands: It’s the Republicans who are the real kooks and are completely responsible for distrust of election integrity and government.
The media seemed to show its own distrust in elections this week, MSNBC anchor Katy Tur tried to preemptively claim that election results in 2022 and 2024 – contests in which Republicans are expected to do well – would be illegitimate. She even wondered if there was a “contingency plan” in place for 2024. Suddenly the media is questioning election integrity – when polls indicate Democrats might lose.
One of the major rules of politics is don’t compare anything to the Holocaust because you look like a fool. And that’s exactly what far-left “historian” Douglas Brinkley did during Thursday’s January 6 festivities on MSNBC.
CNN’s Brian Stelter understood his assignment this week after the Democrat-led House January 6 Committee said they wanted to speak to Fox News host Sean Hannity about his messages to former Trump administration officials before, during, and after the riot. Stelter was giddy as he baselessly speculated that Hannity was somehow “in on it” and plotted the riot at the Capitol.
