As the government shutdown and stalemate over border wall funding continues into 2019, President Trump took to Twitter to send a message to Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
“Border Security and the Wall ‘thing’ and Shutdown is not where Nancy Pelosi wanted to start her tenure as Speaker! Let’s make a deal?” Trump tweeted Tuesday.
Pelosi is expected to become Speaker of the House later this week, after a new Congress is sworn in with a Democratic majority.
President Trump has requested $5 billion in funding for the border wall, Democrats have refused to include the funding as part of a government spending bill.
“One thing has now been proven,” Trump tweeted. “The Democrats do not care about Open Borders and all of the crime and drugs that Open Borders bring!”
